Details

Homer Simpson is the protagonist of the show. He is the wife of Marge, and dad of Bart, Lisa and Maggie. He is overweight, lazy, and often ignorant. He's the main character of the show and the film.

Homer is a safety inspector at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant in Sector 7G. Sometimes in the power plant, he eats donuts and sleeps on the job. He also spends time with Moe, Barney, Lenny and Carl at Moe's Tavern. He can also sit on the couch drinking beer. He's the son of Grandpa and Mona. When Homer finds Bart up to no good, he says "Why you little!" and strangles him.

He won a Grammy, an Academy Award and he has been to space. He also saved Springfield more than once. Matt Groening got the idea because his father's name is Homer.

History

In 1959, Homer is born. During his childhood, he was able to drink Duff Beer.

12 years old, Homer and his friends (Lenny, Carl and Moe) went over a deep gorge for a nice swim. He went upon a decomposing corpse inside the pipe.

Homer fell in love with Marge at Springfield High School. In the mid-20's, Marge becomes pregnant with Bart and Homer was hired at the nuclear power plant. Unfortunately, Homer's hair is gone and torn out. He and Marge moved into 742 Evergreen Terrace.

After Maggie is born, he takes multiple jobs like an astronaut. Unfortunately, he hands up back to the power plant. He also accidentally polluted Lake Springfield in the movie.

Behind the Laughter

He was also the first character to speak in the series. His full name is Homer Jay Simpson but people think it's Homer J. Simpson and the J is actually a tribute to Bullwinkle J. Moose. Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer is amused that his voice sounds like Walter Matthau in the shorts and the first season. Dan changed the voice in season two.
